YOUR JUICERS AGE: If your juicer is over 10 years old be sure to include your serial number on the bottom, and the location of your red reset button or if there is no one, so we can verify the part will still fit. If your juicer has NO HEXNUT on the bottom on the inside and outside, then you cannot replace the blade and clutch nut. Parts are non-refundable so provide all information. If your shredder disk has a center that is a hexagon shape then the shredder disc for your model is no longer available. If your shredder disc has a circle in the center then the shredder disc will fit. If your juicer has no reset button then it is very, very old. We must check that any parts you wish will still fit.

Tech Notes regarding a problem with Vibration

A couple of things can make a unit vibrate:

Acme 5001, 6001, 7001/Waring PJE will not do:

Wheat Grass

Coconut

Sugar Cane

Bananas

Citrus - only with citrus attachment

Frozen

It could vibrate due to several things:

The unit may not be assembled properly.

The method/order of juicing fruits and veggies.

The blade may be worn and need to be replaced.

The blade may need to be adjusted.

There may be an internal part that is damage.

When assembling the Acme/PJE:

Make sure the nose of the bowl is centered at the front of the base unit and sitting in between the two tabs of the nest.

Make sure the feed tube of the cover is at the back of the unit, opposite to the side the nose of the bowl is on.

Juicing Tips:

When juicing, we tell people to alternate hard and soft pieces of veggies.

Soft fruit and veggies will cause the unit to become unbalanced, where all the weight/veggies are on one side of the strainer basket.

It will vibrate just like a washing machine does when clothes are all on one side.

By alternating it will keep the distribution of the pulp more even on the inside of the strainer basket.

When doing leafy veggies, roll them up into a cigar shape or a ball and then feed them into the unit.

Blade Adjustment:

Adjustment is to set the tolerance or difference between the end of the inside spout and the blade for proper cutting.

To do this, turn unit on its side and you will notice in center of bottom a lock nut and set screw.  Unlock the lock nut with a 7/16th inch wrench.  With a screwdriver you can turn the set screw in center of bottom.  By turning to the right, blade is elevated toward the spout.  By turning to the left, tolerance is greater between the spout and blade, as blade is now going lower.

Unloosen set screw and while unit is still on its side, plug it in, turn it on and then turn it off.  While it is still coasting, turn set screw in until you hear blade hit the spout.  Unturn one-half turn and you have a perfect setting.  While holding set screw in place, tighten lock nut.  Your adjustment is now made.  You may also want to squeeze down springs that hold lid on for a tighter fit.
